Allied International Credit Corp Sued for Robocalls and Debt Collection Practices

HELPLINE

On behalf of our client, Lemberg Law recently filed a complaint in U.S. District Court, Northern District of Florida. The case, against Allied International Credit Corp, charges the company with violating federal law. It asks for $500 to $1,500 per call in Telephone Consumer Protection Act statutory damages, $1,000 in Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) statutory damages, plus other relief.

Debt collection calls can give you heartburn. Debt collection robocalls are exponentially worse. Our client says that Allied International Credit Corp started robocalling his cell phone in 2016. When he answered the calls, he just heard silence. At one point, our client spoke with the debt collection agency and demanded that the calls stop. Nevertheless, Allied International Credit Corp kept calling. In addition, our client says that Allied International Credit Corp failed to properly identify itself as a debt collection agency when calling him.

The lawsuit charges that Allied International Credit Corp violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) by using an automated telephone dialing system to call our client’s cell phone without his consent. The lawsuit also charges that Allied International Credit Corp violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) by engaging in harassing behavior; by not disclosing the identity of the debt collection agency during a call; and by using unfair and unconscionable means to collect a debt.

This collection agency SUCK ! I called and asked could I make payments and be able to get my transcript to continue college. They told me I had to pay in full absolutely NOT many agencies offer payments plans and offers to work with both parties. Nonetheless, after I called them they have been calling my multiple times everyday. That’s harassment ! I will not stand for that, there are other methods to contact people such as email. GET IT TOGETHER !

This company calls my cell phone 4-5 times “darn” (for a lack of better words) everyday AND TODAY called me 4 times in less then 10 mins….. I mean for crying out load people…. YES I do own 2 ER’s money (less then $500) but this should NEVER constitute HARASSMENT like this. As well they are Completely Rude & Hang up on people as if we called Harassing them. ANY HELP WITH THIS GOD FORSAKING TRASH OF A COMPANY WOULD BE WONDERFUL FOR US ALL.

I am having the same issue as Mike above. The robocalls leave a blank where it has a place for your name. The calls to my cell go blank where they should say the creditor. I am blocking them because they don’t even try to say I owe anything, just continued calls that feel like generic harassment.

They keep calling my cell phone from 800-440-8188, but they never leave any message. My voice mail just records silence from their calls.

If they think I owe somebody something they should speak. I pretty certain I do not.

Since they never say anything I just ignore them . My credit rating is still high and I hear nothing from Life Lock.
