Many consumers bring up complaints about harassing collection calls

AR Resources Inc is a debt collection agency, which receives a lot of consumer complaints to our law firm for debt harassment. Find out who they are, why they might be calling, and how you can stop them.

What is AR Resources Inc?

Unlike a lot of debt collection agencies, AR Resources doesn’t try to portray itself as providing a service to customers to help them repay debt. On the contrary, it directly and clearly markets itself to firms seeking to collect on debt. This company title is shared with another debt collection agency headquartered in Florida, but the two entities are different. The organization described here, headquartered in Pennsylvania, has a page with the URL “arresourcesinc.com,” that differs in the Florida company.

AR Resources specializes in the group of health care and education debt, but doesn’t limit itself only to those kinds of debt. The company employs all typical techniques for collection, plus pre-collection actions to push customers toward payment until their debt is sent out for collection.

Understanding Your Debt Collection Rights

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) issues strict rules regarding the way the debt collector may obtain a customer’s data from third parties, and what sort of information can be accumulated. The FDCPA defines location information for a consumer’s home address or place of employment, in addition to the phone number for each. Location information doesn’t include any other private or work-related data, such as income or employment hours. A debt collector may contact a third party to acquire this information about you; however, in such circumstances, the collector needs to adhere to specific rules. These rules include: notifying the third party that they’re confirming and/or correcting location information; not telling the third party that the consumer owes any debt; just communicating with a certain party one time unless the third party requests additional communication or if the debt collector considers the initial information might have been untrue or incomplete; ensuring that any written correspondence to third parties does not include information that the collector is trying to collect a debt; and stopping any and all correspondence with third parties if the collector knows the consumer is represented by a lawyer.
