Credentialed trainers employed by Medix Staffing Solutions, Inc. have a joined a lawsuit against the Chicago-based company seeking unpaid overtime compensation and other damages. The plaintiffs allege that they were IT technicians whose job was to train Medix’s clients on various software applications and provide IT support.

Plaintiffs allege that Medix misclassified them as exempt from overtime under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act and failed to pay them overtime compensation even though they regularly worked in excess of 40 hours per week. Plaintiffs are represented by Tamra Givens and Sergei Lemberg of Lemberg Law, LLC.

I am a medical Assistant who currently works for Medix. I have completed my hours at the job they assigned me to and they have not hired me. I have asked my agent to allow me to seek another job and his excuse is no also there is no sick time hours or paid. PTO is given but I have 11 months working here and I only have three days of PTO. and no Sick time. I want to sue them this is not ok in anyway. I believe the law of California is to have 3 days sick time no matter who you work for. Also I have been feeling very sick like if I Had Covid and I also brought it up to the attention of my recruiter and he said is ok you need to continue going to work.
