insurancecallsettlement – In lawsuits filed across the country, consumers allege that Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) by sending telemarketing calls to wireless phone numbers without the recipients’ prior express written consent.

What is the Nationwide Insurance Call TCPA Settlement?

A $5 million settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit alleging Nationwide Mutual Insurance violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by making automated phone calls to phone numbers listed on the national Do Not Call Registry and to recipients who did not provide their consent.

The Settlement affects certain individuals who received an Automatic Call from Nationwide Mutual Insurance or on behalf of, between the dates of September 27, 2012 and October 15, 2018. Settlements will be awarded to three qualifying subclasses:

“MediaAlpha Settlement Class” and “MediaAlpha Settlement Class Members”:

Means all persons within the United States who received a telephone call advertising Nationwide’s homeowners or automotive insurance products, whose telephone call or Lead Information was transferred by MediaAlpha to Nationwide during the Class Period.

“Nationwide IDNC Settlement Class” and “Nationwide IDNC Settlement Class Members”

Means all persons within the United States who (a) received more than one telephone solicitation within any 12-month period falling within the Class Period (b) on their phone number that had been registered on the Nationwide Internal Do Not Call Registry for more than 31 days, (c) the purpose of which was to advertise Nationwide’s automotive or homeowners’ insurance products.

“Variable Settlement Class” and “Variable Settlement Class Members”

Means all persons within the United States who received a telephone call from Variable Marketing , whose telephone call or Lead Information was transferred to a Nationwide Agent during the Class Period.

Eligible persons would receive an estimated cash award of only $75 based on a 10% claim rate, and could be less upon final approval.

If you chose NOT TO OPT OUT you are entitled to only the amount estimated above.

    Hi my name is Randy get these robocalls everyday I get them from cruise lines I get them from all over the place and its day in and day out my wife also gets them day in and day out and we’ve tried to stop them we’ve we replied stop we’re on the no call list Wii U name it we’ve done it and when the settlements come up and we try to put our phone number in it won’t accept our phone number on some of them so we just carry on until we see the next one they do it all hours of the day in the morning and at evening and at night thank you for your time Randy and Laura Fraley

    I’m disabled and I have to keep my phone tuned down cause I keep getting insurance sales calls. I tell them I’m not interested!! That I have insurance but they still call nonstop.     I have been bombarded by unwanted calls from a third party student loan scam. After requesting that I be put on the do not call list several times I still receive calls almost daily and usually nearing a dozen such calls during just one day. I’ve received texts as well and asked that those stop too. They are using several different numbers to call from too. I believe some are a robo call set up. Is there any legal action that I can take with this?
