According to its website, Sunrise offers “customized programs for managing all of your receivables needs and collections as an extension of your own operations or on a standalone basis.” Since its founding in 1975, Sunrise has grown to become one of the largest Accounts Receivable Management (ARM) companies in the United States. Can Sunrise Credit Services Sue Me or Garnish My Wages?

It is illegal for a debt collector to make empty threats to sue you or garnish your wages. It is also unlikely SCS would sue you for a debt you may not owe or they cannot validate. However, debt collection agencies are known to have summoned debtors to court and garnish wages after a default judgement. Contacting an attorney BEFORE this could possibly happen would be a smart move. We’ve helped thousands of consumers fight back against unscrupulous debt collection harassers. Can you help me file a No Fee Lawsuit against Sunrise Credit Services?

Absolutely.  You can sue a debt collector. Here is a Sample Complaint:

For the most part, the details of consumer complaints against Sunrise Credit Services on the BBB website are unavailable. However, the CFPB website provides narratives of the consumer complaints it receives. In June 2017, the CFPB reports that a complainant indicated SCS began contacting him about a delinquent debt. The complainant indicated to Sunrise that the bill had been disputed with the New York State Attorney General and CFPB. The complainant indicated a Sunrise representative responded by stating “it was not their problem and to pay up.” The complainant indicated SCS continued to call several times a day despite a cease and desist request, and that calls had been increasingly aggressive and threatening, bordering on harassment. Also in June 2017, a complainant indicated Sunrise representatives had been “calling repeatedly from different phone numbers within minutes of each other.” Representatives called throughout the day asking for verification of personal information. The complainant indicated to Sunrise representatives when his pay day occurred, when he would be submitting payment, and requested that calls cease and desist until then, but the calls continued. The complainant also alleged that Sunrise representatives refused to send written correspondence. In May 2017, a complainant indicated Sunrise representatives had been “calling my home for a month a dozen times a day.” The complainant indicated that he had informed Sunrise that it was not his debt. Sunrise said his name and number would be removed from the calling list, but he soon began receiving calls again. Also in May 2017, a complainant indicated that Sunrise representatives had “been calling at least 4 times a day.” The complainant “asked them repeatedly to stop calling…at work,” but the calls persisted because Sunrise representatives complained that the consumer didn’t answer the phone after work. In all these cases, the CFPB has indicated that the “[c]ompany has responded to the consumer and the CFPB and chooses not to provide a public response.”

Sunrise Credit Services Calling You?

Federal laws protect you. The Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA) regulates the behavior of collection agencies by prohibiting actions such as the use of abusive or threatening language; harassment; or the use of false or misleading information to collect a debt. The FCRA regulates how collection agencies and creditors report delinquent debts to credit reporting agencies. Additional consumer protection laws include the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and the Consumer Financial Protection Act (CFPA).

Can I sue Sunrise Credit Services for harassment?

Yes. If you want to enforce your rights, or recover money for violations — you need to sue. Federal laws provide individuals like you with a means to seek monetary damages in court. For example, the FDCPA allows consumers who have been violated to recover damages of up to $1,000, plus attorney fees and court costs.

Well my story behind with Sprint cell phone company with whom sunrise is trying to collect for. Me and my wife got a phone and a I pad each. Sprint stated it was a soft credit inquiry. (wrong) then my wife broke her phone and Sprint agreed to send another for 11 dollars shipping and handling. I do not trust this company so I made 12 dollars only available in my bank account. I had a Sprint employee ask if it was ok to run the 11 dollars and I said yes. He stated that here was not available funds. He attempted the transaction 3 more times. No available funds each time. I called the bank raising hell. Later Sprint called again and same result. I verified the money. His supervisor tried it two more times. Each time asking is it ok to charge my card 11 dollars. No available funds. The bank called me and informed me Sprint was trying to withdraw 22 dollars each time. Sprint tried to steal money from me. I asked to close our accounts. They sent me envelopes that were Pre- Adressed to mail back the phones and I pads. I took pictures of the addresses and two months later Sprint is still charging. I googled it he addresses Sprint sent me and it was not listed as a Sprint company. I tried contacting corporate. Nothing. I took my evidence to a Sprint store and the Sprint store manager contacted corporate and gave them my evidence. Corporate would not believe the Sprint manager.
Now enters sunrise collections who has hurt my credit along with Sprint and they will not drop the case when I disputed it. Thus getting me denied for a car loan.

Sunrise is such a lovely place to get a call from(note sarcasm)!
I have repeatedly told the woman who calls
That due to the stupid Corona Virus I am out of work, no money and difficulties with unemployment, she insists I am contradicting myself because I have a cell phone and have to make a payment on that after I explained that I am not the one paying for it!!!
But according to her I am the rude one because I keep talking over her when she is the one doing it!!
I am not denying that I need to pay but I can’t if I don’t have money!!!!!

I switched over from Suddenlink to Grande Communications in 02/2019. I was paid up through March with them. Suddenlink continued to bill me after I ended my services with them. They sent me a collection notice for service and equipment through 06/2019. I contacted them numerous times. They finally removed the equipment charge and the billing agent said she would get to her supervisor to have the other balance removed because she didn’t have the authority to remove my balance. She told me to disregard any other notices or calls. Here we are into the next year and now I have this company calling me. I explained the history to the caller for Sunrise and told her that I have evidence of my payment records. She said she would discuss with her boss, but continue to get calls from them on my cell phone several times/day.

Sunrise has called me at least twice a day morning and afternoon for the last 3 to 4 months. Easily over 100 phone calls & I have my call records. Id like to pursue damages.

Sunrise calls me incessantly on a daily basis. They never leave a message. Usually from a different number, with varying area codes. I answered the phone by mistake ( I have gone to ignoring calls unless I recognize the number) last week and an extremely rude female began asking personal questions and refusing to answer what account I owed money to. Finally she asked me if my email was ….. and I replied no, as I had changed it within the past year. I gave her my correct one with her verbal confirmation she would send me details of this “overdue account”. That was approximately 7 days ago. Have received nothing. Additionally, I have checked my old account and found nothing from them there either. I believe this may concern a former Sprint account that I closed last year at this time and was paid in full. I would appreciate any help you might offer.

Sunrise calls me every day. Never left a voicemail except one – male, heavy breathing into the microphone, loud music in the background.

I am being pursued by Suddenlink for payment for services I do not owe. Their service is terrible. I WILL NOT be paying the balance shown as due. I repeat, WILL NOT. I used their service for two weeks and canceled. I tied returning their equipment, which they only have one office 20 miles away, and they are closed on Saturday. I work during the week so it is very difficult to make time to cover for their inconvenience. I was called recently and agreed to pay one month, $180.00. That’s it folks, not a penny more.

They call me no less then 15 times daily. All hours! There number begins at 973.321.1795 and go all the up to 1808 (973.321 1808.) Idk who/why they’re calling but will NOT stop. Unreal.
    Peace!

Has anyone else payed Sunrise and them not report it back to the creditor? I paid them over a year ago and the payment was never reported back to AT&T; now they’ve sent my account to another collection agency. When I spoke with them they said they only keep records for 3 months. I could have paid this account from 1 of a dozen cards so there’s not a lot of hope in me locating the payment. Any advice?

We ordered Direct TV and I ask the man I was talking to if we would get a certain channel he checked and said yes. When they called to schedule appt. to install again if we would get this channel they said yes. When the installer came we ask him again he, he said yes. When he left we ran channels and did not have that channel. I called immediately and was put on hold for hours, when we finally got to talk to a supervisor we told her to just disconnect the service she said I will fix it and you will be billed the same amount. before the week was up we received a huge bill I called and told them to disconnect the service, I was informed that they would send a box and label to send the equipment back to them. We never received it, I called back and was told to take it to the nearest UPS store I did and they told me they couldn’t send it back without a label I would have to take it to Memphis (2 hours away) to mail it. I called again and ask for a box and label they said they could send a label I said fine I will find a box. I have still not received a label and have called at least twice since then. All we get from them is a bill which I do not feel that we owe. We did pay Direct TV the $85.00 that they say we owe, but AT&t is saying we owe $584.07 If you can help with this I would appreciate it.
