Absolute Collections Corp Calling You?

Federal laws protect you. The Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA) regulates the behavior of collection agencies by prohibiting actions such as the use of abusive or threatening language; harassment; or the use of false or misleading information to collect a debt. The FCRA regulates how collection agencies and creditors report delinquent debts to credit reporting agencies. Additional consumer protection laws include the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and the Consumer Financial Protection Act (CFPA).

Can I sue ACC for harassment?

Yes. If you want to enforce your rights, or recover money for violations — you need to sue. Federal laws provide individuals like you with a means to seek monetary damages in court. For example, the FDCPA allows consumers who have been violated to recover damages of up to $1,000, plus attorney fees and court costs.

This company has been calling me saying they had legal documents to deliver to me. It was an automated call. I called back with the case # that was on the auto call. They told me I had a credit card debt from approx 10 years ago, for 750$. I was also told they were preparing litigation. They rattled off my ss #, previous and current address, but the contacts I did not know. Then they informed me I could settle today for 500$. But, if I chose to go to court, it would be 1700$ I don’t know what to do.

They told me they will not send documention regarding this account and told me they are going to sue me for 4K they read me my Ss number my car make and model with vin# saying they are going to garnish my Ss disability checks. I do not remember this debit nor do I remember a letter they claim they sent. Contact was rude would not allow me to speak and refused to send documents. They wanted a credit card to settle debit and were as rude as can be. I was scammed two yrs ago with this same attempt. Loosing 800.00

Extremely rude and impatient personnel! I only had a couple of them who were actually nice! SO now they say i have another loan out that is twice the amount from the one i settled! and the lady, a Ms. Morgan something or another, was so rude she wouldn’t even let me explain. I never made a second loan via CashNet Usa! I would really like for them to stop harassing my family, and if “i am to be sued” for something they claim happened over 10 years ago…. why havent i recieved any documents? I hate these people.
